Cong to oppose CM’s visit to Bhograi Feb 13

Bhograi: Even as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is slated to visit Bhograi February 13, the Congress has announced its resolve to oppose his visit strongly. Senior Congress leaders including Satyashib Das slammed the BJD over its alleged neglect of the constituency at a press meet.

Das said, “The Chief Minister has been visiting Bhograi every year since 2011 and inaugurating Talsari beach festival. Talsari is called the heaven, but not a single casuarina plant or light post has been planted there. Tourism is booming at Digha beach near Udaypur, but the state government has failed to exploit tourism potential at Udaypur and Talsari beaches.”

Congress leaders also observed that the state government did not learn anything from the neighboring state. “Where are Kirtania port, Bichitrapur post, the proposed 500 MW solar project at Narayan Mohanty Padia, development of Bhusandheswar temple. Where is the money of chit fund victims,” they asked.

They also pointed out that annual BSE examinations will start shortly while the Chief Minister’s visit will affect the process as teachers and students will be affected by it directly or indirectly.

Congress leaders took a dig at minister Ananta Das, saying Das has been trying to keep Patnaik in good humour, but he should say what he has done for development of tourism at Talsari.

What Das has done for industrial sector in Bhograi, they asked. “Not a single industry has been set up in Bhograi. Thousands of unemployed youths are migrating to other states in search of jobs. This is a joke at the people of Bhograi,” they noted.

Congress leaders like ex-MP Kartikeswar Patra, Ashish Kumar Patra, Santosh Kumar Jena, Gopabandhu Mohapatra, Sumant Behera, Dipesh Chandra Ray and Rabindra Pradhan said the party will oppose the Chief Minister’s visit in a novel way.
