Cuttack: Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim and former lawmaker Chiranjib Biswal were Saturday suspended from Odisha Congress, a source said.
According to the source, the two leaders were suspended on charges of ‘involvement in anti-party activities’.
State Congress President Sarat Pattanayak had previously complained against the two leaders before Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC).
The source further informed that DAC had sought replies from Moquim and Biswal on the basis of the complaint.
However, their replies were found to be unsatisfactory. Subsequently, DAC decided to place both leaders under suspension, the source added.
