Constable suspended for uncivil response on 'dial 100'

Puri:  A police constable working at the control room of Puri police has been suspended after behaving disgracefully while attending an emergency call that landed on the ‘dial 100’ service line.

The accused constable has been identified as Sushant Bhujabal.

According to Superintendent of police (SP) Uma Shankar Dash, the constable was on duty October 5 and was responding to a call on the ‘Dial 100’ number.  Bhujabal’s behaviour on the phone was not appropriate for which he has been suspended, the SP added.

“A departmental inquiry will be initiated into the incident. We will soon start a training programme to groom police personnel who are attending calls on Dial 100 number,” Dash said.
