Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police, Havildar, Constable and Sepoy Mahasangha withdrew Thursday the black badge protests and plans to cease work Friday after discussions with Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma.
The Mahasangha said the DGP after a brief meeting with its delegation assured the body of fulfilling its demands.
About 70,000 staff and officers were seen discharging their duties wearing black badges on their uniforms across the state.
The association’s demands included 13th-month compensatory allowance at par with the monthly salary, increase in special diet, mobility and washing allowances, health insurance to havildars, constables and sepoys and abolition of contractual employment.
