Paradip: An Indian couple, part of the crew of a cargo ship that anchored at Paradip Port, was suspected of being infected with Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Tuesday.
On being informed by the master of the ship, the port authorities rushed a special medical team to the ship where doctors conducted a check-up of the couple and found the male person having fever. His wife, who was accompanying him, was also found suffering from fever.
The cargo ship with 23 crew members, including the couple, started their voyage from China February 15 and arrived at Paradip Port March 1. The ship also travelled to South Korea and Singapore en route. Later, the port authorities had a discussion with the District Collector, chief district medical officer (CDMO) and SCB authorities after which they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
