Cuttack: Cuttack Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court is likely to hear actress Varsha Priyadarshini’s domestic violence case against her husband and actor-turned-politician BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty Monday.

Varsha recently broke her silence regarding the hype around the much-publicised marital discord with her husband Anubhav.

Taking to Twitter Sunday, the actress posted that ‘truth can never remain hidden’. The post further said that the allegations against her were false. Reposing faith on the almighty and the judicial system, Varsha sought blessings from everyone to help her get over ‘this toughest time’.

Kendrapara MP Anubhav had requested the media to respect his privacy.

“I would like to request all of you to kindly respect the personal space, privacy, and dignity of Varsha, her family, my family, and me,” he wrote on Twitter.

Notably, Varsha Saturday filed a case under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act against the MP for allegedly assaulting and harassing her.

Instead of lodging any complaint with the police, Varsha has approached the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here in a criminal miscellaneous case against Anubhav under section 12 of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, apparently considering her actor-turned politician husband’s close proximity with the power corridor.

On the other hand, it was revealed that Anubhav had filed a divorce petition at Delhi’s Patiala Court back in July.

In his 47 page petition the MP said that he himself wants to get a divorce on grounds that his wife has not allowed him to have physical relations with her after eight years of their marriage though she does not suffer from any physical disability.

Anubhav also said that he and Varsha have been staying separately from May 1, 2019.
