Bhubaneswar: With 618 people in Odisha testing positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, the total tally in the state reached 14,898.
A total of three COVID-19 patients died in Odisha in the past 24 hours belonging to Ganjam and Khurda districts, taking the death toll in the state to 77.
Two more COVID-19 patienst died due to comorbidities, the health department said, taking the death toll due to comorbidities to 24.
Out of the 618 new cases, 411 were reported from quarantine centres while 207are local contacts.
District wise breakdown: Ganjam district again tops the chart with 286new cases. Khurda reported 107, Balasore 61, Jagatsinghpur 26, Mayurbhanj 21, Cuttack 16, Nayagarh and Sundargarh 15 each, Angul 14, Malkangiri 13, Sambalpur 10, Kendrapada nine, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Puri five each, Bolangir, Boudh and Dhenkanal two each and Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Rayagada one apiece.
The total number of tests conducted by the state government stands at 3,53,824 while 4,933 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment at dedicated COVID hospitals across the state. On the other hand the total number of recovery cases stands at 9,864.
