Khurda: In view of steep rise in COVID-19 infections in Khurda district, Collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty and other senior officials Saturday morning took stock of the situation in a review meeting held here.
With the district reporting 1,796 cases in last 24 hours, the Collector appealed local residents to strictly abide by COVID-19 safety protocols to keep the deadly virus at bay. Cooperation of all residents is essential to fight the disease, Mohanty stressed.
The District Magistrate ordered the officials concerned to expedite contact tracing activities, COVID vaccination, swab testing and field visits by rapid response teams (RRTs) across the district.

Mohanty advised the officials to keep vigil on returnees coming from outside Khurda district. Critically infected patients will be shifted to nearby COVID-19 hospitals by ambulance, he added.
Khurda Additional Collector Manoj Kumar Padhi, Additional Collector (Revenue) Anuj Das Patnaik, project director DRDA Diganta Routray, Sub-Collector Ashok Behuria, Bhubaneswar Sub-Collector Debabrata Sahoo and several other senior officials took part in the meeting.
