Rourkela: In view of continuous increase in COVID-19 positive cases in Sundargarh district, the district administration has decided to launch triple antigen test in the Rourkela city of the district within a week.
North division revenue commisoner Niranjan Sahu said that the district administration is planning to avail the testing facilities by setting testing centers at different localities or in private hospital.

“With the help of triple antigen test kit, the district administration is able to avail the COVID-19 test report withing 20 minutes”, added Sahu.
Sahu also informed that the district administration aims at testing more people primarily the asymptomatic cases.
On the other hand, the outpatient service (OPD) Bonai sub-divisional hospital has been shut till further after a staff nurse tested positive at the hospital. However, patients requiring emergency care would be allowed for treatment at the hospital.
Notably, as of August 11, the district had reported 91 fresh COVID-19 cases. With this the total tally in the district has increased to 972. The virus has claimed 19 lives in the district.
