CR7 likely to join Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo

Madrid: The end of the world is nigh but as with all other ‘end-of-the-world’ scenarios, in the case of Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo the exact date of the apocalypse is liable to change.

Reports suggest that Real are happy for Ronaldo to leave, and what we can also be sure about is that the player himself will gladly go but that’s only half the battle.

Ronaldo has received an offer to leave the Spanish giants and join Italian champions Juventus, a source close to the player revealed, Wednesday.

Ronaldo, who joined Real from Manchester United in 2008 for a then world record 80mn pounds, is the Spanish club’s all-time top scorer with 451 goals in all competitions and has won two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies with them.

Despite the glut of silverware, however, the five-time world player of the year has had frequent fallouts with Real, especially with club chief Florentino Perez, and has declared on several occasions that he wants to leave the club.

The Italians are willing to pay 88mn pounds and the player would get a four-year deal worth 26.5mn pounds-a-season.

On the other hand, former Juve CEO Luciano Moggi, who claimed that he had tried to bring the Real star to Italy when he was an 18-year-old from Sporting Lisbon, said that the Portuguese has already signed a contract with the Turin giants.

“In my opinion, he has already signed and passed the medical examination with Juventus in Munich. This is what I think after talking to some important people,” said Mogga.
