Crack on track at Singapur Station

JK Pur: A possible train mishap was averted Thursday as a rail track developed a crack near Singapur Road station on the outskirts of Rayagda town after a trackman on duty detected it. According to sources, the crack was detected on the track at plant form number-1 ahead of the passing of Koraput-Sambalpur Passenger and Bhagat Kothi Express through the route. Soon the trackman alerted the station master and the railway authorities immediately swung into action and stopped both trains. Then the Koraput-Sambalpur passenger train was halted midway. A technical team from Rayagada reached the spot and launched a repair work. The train service was restored on the route after a few hours. Notably, Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand express had a narrow escape near Singapur road station in the district December 25, 2018. An alert railway staff (a signal man)’s swift action and the presence of mind is to be thanked for avoidance of train mishap.
