We-The Road Queens riding club organized an Awareness Bike Rally from KIIT Square to Anand Bazar Sachivalaya Marg Saturday with more than 80 bikes in association with Commissionerate of police, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Road Safety Week is a national event aimed at raising public awareness about rules and regulations on road safety and to urge people to follow them. It educates drivers and the pedestrians about safe driving and importance traffic guidelines. Not following the rules and guidelines is a danger to both the drivers of the vehicles but also the pedestrians and others.

Sangeeta Sahoo, a biker and member of We-The Road Queens, opined that as a responsible biker, it is important to follow rules and always wear a helmet while riding the bike to avoid accidents. Millions lose their life and millions get injured mainly due to lack of obeying traffic rules and the biker team is trying to spread awareness about road safety.

Das Subrat, another city biker, is of the view that wearing helmet and safety gear should be taken seriously as accidents can be fatal.

Other biking group like XBHP BHUBANESWAR also participated in the rally to spread road awareness about traffic rules.

The bikers of the city regularly organised rallies for creating awareness about pertinent issues. Recently city bikers had organised a rally to create awareness regarding acid sale.
