Crime Branch to conduct lie detector tests on 4 persons in Aditya Das death case

Bhubaneswar: In a major development, the Crime Branch has decided to conduct lie detector tests on four persons regarding the death case of activist Aditya Das. The Crime Branch, the investigating agency probing the case, has already written to the Odisha State Forensic Laboratory regarding tests, sources said.

The persons to be tested are Aditya’s widow Bidyashree and three of his colleagues, Papu, Bikash and Pritam.

Earlier the Government Railway Police (GRP) was carrying conducting investigations since the body of the social activist was found near a railway station here.

Later DG Abhay directed the Crime Branch to probe the matter. The Crime Branch took over the case July 30. The deceased’s family members had welcomed the move.

Aditya was found dead on the railway tracks near the Lingaraj station in this city, July 7. The post-mortem report has revealed he died due to multiple injuries on his head.

However, Aditya’s death still remains shrouded in mystery. It is yet to be solved whether his death was by suicide or he was murdered.

Aditya’s wife and friends have since engaged in a blame game accusing one another on different media platforms. It has only heightened the mystery surrounding the case.
