Kendrapara: Vigilance officials Friday raided the office and houses of Ranjan Kumar Nayak, a teacher of Jamapada Girls’ High School under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal district on charges of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Simultaneous raids were conducted by the anti-corruption sleuths at four places including Nayak’s house at Kalapada, in-law’s house at Bahakandia, his office on the high school premises and his brother-in-law’s house at Jamapada.
During the search, the anti-graft officials have so far seized property including 400 grams of gold ornaments, a car, three motorcycles and five trucks worth over Rs 1.5 crore.
Apart from this, bank passbooks belonging to Nayak and his family members and, land purchases and sale deeds have also been seized.
The raid was being conducted under the supervision of vigilance DSP Surendranath Raiguru.
