CRPF IGP for wiping out left wing extremists

Muniguda: CRPF inspector general of police, Odisha Sector, Vitul Kumar Sunday visited  its 8th battalion stationed here in Rayagada district to review the progress and chalk out plans to cleanse the area of Maoists.

Kumar, after landing on CRPF’s helipad, was welcomed by CRPF commandant NK Singh and deputy commandant Brushv Meher. Later, he spoke to the jawans at the camp and discussed about the strategies to be adopted to combat Maoist violence. The IGP also attended a review meet at CRPF’s conference hall. Later in the day, he visited the under-construction CRPF camp at Jhiliguda near Muniguda.

Since the area is known as bastion of left wing extremists, Kumar visited the CRPF camps in Chandrapur, Raibig, Dangasorada and Muniguda and drew plans to wipe out the extremists. He also laid stress on strengthening the CRPF force.

Apart from many officials, Muniguda IIC Yashwant Hial, tehsildar Fernenand Ekka, fire officer Brahmananda Pradhan and a medical team were present during the IGP’s visit.
