CRPF jawan’s body found on rail tracks

Sambalpur, August 25: A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the rail tracks between Godbhaga and Hirakud here Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as D Ramachandra Rao (33), son of D Appal Naidu of Inubasi village in Vijayanagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem to Burla-based VSS Medical College and Hospital.
Various theories started circulating after his death. While a section of people claimed it as suicide others termed it as murder with the body being later dumped on the rail tracks.
Sources said Rao, working in 112-batallion of CRPF in Jharkhand was recently transferred to Sambalpur camp along with another jawan. Both the jawans reached Sambalpur Monday by a train and went to sleep in the rest room of Khetrajpur railway station. However, locals found Rao’s body on the railway tracks and informed GRP. The GRP recognised him from his identity card.
When contacted, GRP IIC Chintamani Pradhan said investigation is on to ascertain the actual reason behind Rao’s death. He said circumstantial evidences indicate that he might have been run over after falling down from a moving train. He however, said exact reason could be known only after he receives post-mortem report.
Forensic experts at VSS Medical College and Hospital have kept the body after completing post-mortem to hand it over to his family members.
