CRUT’s special buses to ferry devotees

Bhubaneswar: To ensure hassle-free journey for devotees travelling to Puri from the twin city and nearby places for the world-famous Rath Yatra, Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) announced special bus services, Friday.

As per the decision, altogether 33 special buses will operate on seven intercity routes and one intra-city route from July 7 to 9 and July 15 to 17. The buses will operate from Khurda, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Kakatpur to Talabania bus stand in Puri at regular intervals. Buses will be available from Bhubaneswar railway station, Baramunda bus stand, Malatipatpur bus stand, National Law University, Cuttack, Khurda via Jatni, Kakatpur via Marine Drive, Konark, Jagatpur, Cuttack and Mahanadi Vihar (Cuttack) for Talabania bus stand in Puri.

The fare for intercity routes will be flat at Rs 80 for non-AC and Rs 100 for AC buses. Route no-53 shall be modified as Route 53 E (shuttle service) for intra-city bus service from Malatipatpur to Talabania bus stand, Puri with a flat fare of Rs 20 only. Service on routes AE1, AE2, 60, 61 & 52 will be suspended during this period – from July 7 to 9, and July 15 to 17, 2024. Regular bus service will be available from July 10 to 14, 2024.

Devotees will be able to reach their destinations in a hasslefree manner by availing of the service. Buses will ply throughout the day at regular intervals for the convenience of the commuters.
