Bhubaneswar: Jeevan Rekha Parishad in association with YMCA and other organizations jointly launched the Students’ Personal Development Week 2018 here Friday. Students from across India as well as abroad will get an opportunity to study, learn and experience different educational systems, environments, the history and culture of each other’s country at the event.
The aim of the event is to share the ideas and thoughts among different cultures and achieve personal growth leading to a deeper understanding of different cultures and traditions, said Manoranjan Mishra of Jeevan Rekha Parishad.
On the first day of the event, students from more than 14 countries interacted with the students from slum school.
Chaton Chrin of France, who is associated with Jeevan Rekha Parishad as a volunteer in several development activities in rural areas, said that the programme will help in understanding the thoughts of the small children and help understand people better.
During the week-long programme, foreign students will also visit many places in the Capital city and neighbouring areas such as Nandankanan, Raghurajpur and Konark Sun temple where they will take part in nature camps. They will also visit some schools in the city in next few days.
Moreover, the UN World Peace Day will be observed at Blossom School September 22 where the European and Indian students will perform dance and music and take part in dialogue on peace building process. An urban gardening workshop will also be organised September 25.
Elina of USA, an art student, said that she was excited to learn about the different aspects of the state during this visit.
