Cuttack police arrest all accused in financial firm loot case

Cuttack: In a major crackdown, Cuttack police along with the help of Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad police solved the Cuttack financial company loot case within a week, informed Twin City Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi, Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference Sarangi said that a special team was formed by Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh. The team had executed a plan, laid a trap against the miscreants and caught them within a week, added Sarangi.

Lauding the efforts of the officials Sarangi said, “I feel proud of my officers and hope twin city citizens take pride in having such a competent and professional police force that could solve one of the most sensational robbery cases in Odisha history in record time”.

All the accused were detained and the police seized two motorcycles and gold ornaments from their possession.

After the procedure of questioning police will reveal details about the accused, added Sarangi.

Notably, some unidentified armed miscreants allegedly looted cash worth Rs 12 crore at gunpoint from the office of India Infoline Finance Limited (IIFL) in the Nayasarak area of Cuutack November 19.

Sources said the miscreants armed with weapons barged into the office and held the security personnel and other employees at the bank hostage at gunpoint.

After that they looted gold ornaments worth around Rs 12 crore and Rs 4.30 lakh cash from the office of IIFL finance company.
