Cuttack: Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Sunday said that 16 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the city in past 24 hours.
While 14 of them are home quarantine cases, the remaining two are local contact one.
“Active surveillance, contact tracing, and sanitization of the concerned areas are underway,” CMC said.
According to a notification issued by the civic body, as of Sunday morning, 350 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Cuttack out of which 200 have recovered. There are 143 active cases and seven persons have succumbed to the disease.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 caseload in Odisha crossed the 17,000-mark Sunday with 736 more people testing positive for the infection, while five fresh fatalities pushed the death toll due to the disease in the state to 91.
According to state health department, of the 736 new cases, 481 were reported from quarantine centres, while the remaining 255 were contacts of COVID-19 patients.
