Cuttack: As many as 87 new COVID-19 cases were detected under Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits in last 24 hours, CMC said Monday.
Among the new cases, one case was reported from institutional quarantine centres, 76 were home quarantine cases and two cases were from paid quarantine centres. Eight persons contracted the virus locally.

Three men and five women who contracted the virus locally were from Kali Gali, Nayasadak near Choudhury Bazar, Santa sahi, Chauliaganj, Mahanadivihar, Telenga Bazar, dewan Bazar and Badambadi.

After the fresh detection, the city’s tally has gone up to 1091. Of them, 501 patients are undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 hospitals and 580 have recovered from the disease so far. Ten persons have so far died due to the disease.
Out of the 76 home quarantine cases, one was from Sector-11 of CDA, 57 cases were from Behera Sahi near Malgodown, five cases were from Old Rausapatna Containment Zone, one case was from Santosh Nagar, ten cases were from Machua Bazar, one case was from Peyton Sahi and one case from College Square.
