Bhubaneswar: In the just concluded ‘Smart India Hackathon 2020’, Software Edition, two groups of students of CV Raman Global University, Odisha stood first in the country by solving two live problems of Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments.
The group, ‘Nexas’, consisting of Sourav Mishra (team leader), Satyabrata Pal, ShrishaAgarwala, Abhilasha Panda, Abhishek Das, Binit Kumar from CSE department, and another group, ‘Braniacs_1.0’, consisting of ShikhaKumari Pathak (team leader), TaniyaGhosh, Gayatri Jena, Akash Mishra, Pratyush Pani, ShantanuBhriguvanshi from ETC & EE Department achieved the unique feat. Team ‘Nexas’ developed a software-based app for filing online FIR with high degree of security and all the required information to facilitate hassle-free FIR linking with Aadhaar card of the complaint/victim.
Similarly, team Braniacs_1.0 developed an app-based career counselling software for school level students, graduates & dropouts to provide assistance in career guidance, Personality Test, Language Translation and many more useful things. Both the teams were awarded Rs1 lakh each and highly praised by the members of the organising team of the competition.
Altogether, 1,081 teams participated in the final round of the Smart India Hackathon, Software Edition this year. The founder president of CGU, Odisha, Sanjib Kumar Rout, acting VC Prof Bhabes Bhattacharya and all the students & staff of CGU, Odisha greeted the winning teams as well as their mentors, Surendra Kumar Nanda and Tushar Kanti Dash for this achievement.
