Bolangir: Vigilance officials raided the house and office of assistant commercial tax officer (ACTO) Dhirendra Mishra on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance sleuths of Sambalpur division along with their Bolangir and Bargarh counterparts conducted simultaneous raids on Mishra’s residence at Mahalaxmi Nagar in the district and his offices at Bolangir and Kantabanji.
During the search, the anti-graft officials seized cash to the tune of Rs 4.77 lakh and gold ornaments from his residence. Besides, several documents including bank passbooks, ATM cards and insurance papers were also verified and seized.
The anti-corruption agency conducted the raids following a complaint accusing Mishra of amassing assets worth over Rs 1 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The valuation of his movable and immovable assets was underway till filing of this report.
