DA case: Crorepati school teacher Dushmanta Nayak arrested by Vigilance sleuths in Gajapati

Paralakhemundi: Vigilance sleuths arrested government school teacher Dushmanta Nayak in Gajapati district Wednesday evening for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets of Rs 3.27 crore.

Nayak has been working as an assistant teacher at a government upper primary school at S Routapur village under Gosani block in Gajapati district. The school teacher allegedly possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Anti-graft agency officials had earlier raided different houses belonging to Nayak. Total assets of the assistant teacher were calculated to the tune of Rs 3,27,25,448,  a Vigilance official said.

Nayak was forwarded to the Special Judge’s Court under Berhampur Vigilance division and remanded to judicial custody till December 23.

Notably, Nayak owned three triple-storey buildings and five double-storey houses in Paralakhemundi town. His ancestral house at Jangalpadu village, office room at the school and his relative’s house at Gunupur in Rayagada were searched December 15.
