Koraput: Sadar police in this district Thursday claimed to have busted a dacoit gang with arrest of all the six members. Police said that the gang was involved in a burglary at Nadigaon village under Dasamanthpur block in Koraput Sadar police limits, September 13.
According to IIC Samarpita Swain, the six accused are Pabitra Khosla (25), Naresh Khara (30) and Tularam Harijan (30) of B Janiguda village under Bisingapur police limits, Lalu Hial (20) of Kadamguda village, Ramesh Khara (24) of Patasil village and Anjan Asha (25) of Jharkhandpur village under Kasagumuda police limits in Nabarangpur district.
The IIC also informed that Ramesh and Pabitra are the masterminds behind the dacoity. Cash of Rs 50,000, one mobile phone, two bikes and gold ornaments were seized from them.
According to information available, four masked men forced their entry into the house of Siba and Shubhamani Khara near Hatapada of Nandigaon village in the night of September 13. Two others stood guard at the gate of the house. The six then decamped with Rs 74,000 and gold ornaments.
An FIR (Case No-91/19) was lodged Subhamani immediately after the incident. Since then the police have been trying to nab the culprits. Acting on a tip-off Saturday, IIC Samarpita Swain and a team raided the Bisingapur locality and arrested the dacoits.
