Dacoity bid foiled, two arms dealers held

Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off, the Quick Action Team (QAT) of Commissionerate police along with the Tomando police busted a dacoit gang and arrested two arms dealers here in the Capital city.

The accused duo have been identified as Sunil Kumar Swain alias Bapaji (27), son of Upendra Swain of Naragada under Tamando police limits in Khurda district and his aide Sangram.

According to police, the QAT team and Tamando police were on patrolling when they spotted the two while making plan for a major dacoity.

Under suspicion, the raid team detained the two who tried to flee from the spot using a red colour Bajaj Avenger motor cycle.

But the raid team overpowered them and recovered a country made gun, a live ammunition, two rounds of bullets, two motorcycles and an empty case from their possession.

Two days ago, the QAT of Commissionerate police had arrested two arms dealers from Tamando area and seized a gun, five live bullets and two motorcycles from their possession.
