Dama forms new political party ‘Biju Samata Kranti Dal’

Paradip: Putting all speculations and rumours to rest, BJD expelled MLA Damodar Rout emphatically announced that a new party is in the offing at a press meet organised at the circuit house here Saturday.

The party will take its complete form in the next three to four days, he added as he gave details about the new party. He clarified that the new party would be called Biju Samata Kranti Dal (BSKD), after legendary leader Biju Patnaik.

Questioned about members of the new party and the funding for its formation, he wriggled out saying he will declare everything about the party including the joining of leaders, its principles and so forth on the day when the party will see the light of the day.

Regarding the funding, he mocked BJD leaders –Pratap Jena and Prafulla Samal, who he said are there to meet party’s expenses. He claimed the two were the most corrupt leaders and had more money.

Taking advantage of the occasion, he launched a scathing verbal attack against other BJD leaders including MP Kulamani Samal, MLA Debashis Samantray, Municipality chairman Basant Biswal, Paradip town BJD president Sumant Biswal, Minister Pratap Jena, Minister Prafulla Samal, MLA Prashant Muduli  and Jagatsinghpur district BJD president Bishnu Das.

He narrated the entire gamut of their involvement in corruption and how they are earning big bucks by running businesses in names of their near and dear ones.

About MP Kulamani Samal, Dama said the former has not brought up a single problem of locals in the last four years in Parliament.

“He is only there to provide employment to his relatives and expand his business circle,” Dama alleged.

Similarly, he attacked Minister Prafulla Samal and linked him with a college land scam. He also did not spare MLA Prashant Muduli, claiming he was the one who brought Prashant to politics. And now he has become a corrupt leader. He raised questions on the source of money of Muduli, which he has used to construct a multi-storied building at Patrapada in Bhubaneswar.

Criticising CM Naveen Patnaik, Dama said politics never comes to someone hereditary as property. This is why Biju Babu never brought any of his family members into politics when he was alive.

Speaking about the mudslinging between the BJD and BJP on employment problems, he termed it nothing but a ‘drama’.  Going a step further, Dama alleged that the State Government is misleading and misguiding the youth instead of finding out ways to provide them employment.

He also criticised the ‘Mu Hero Mu Odisha’ programme and BJD wing ‘Biju Yuva Vahini’.

He got upset when asked about his role in getting employment to local youths and in developing his constituency Paradip

Taking a pause, he said he has done everything whatever the Port City has today. He claimed his role in getting the MSME office to Paradip and other developments; however the moment reporters spoke about running the office from his own house, he cut short the matter and veered to a different topic.

Among others present at the press meet were former municipality chairman Kishore Kumar Parida and councilor Akshaya Parida.

On the other hand, MP Kulamani Samal criticized Dama and said, “Anyone like Dama who keeps saying that all barring him are corrupt and guilty has some mental problems and needs immediate doctor consultation.”
