Jagatsinghpur: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has geared up to weaken its party’s expelled vice president Damodar Rout in his constituency. The party has started to unite all its influential leaders in Paradip by calling them to its headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
BJD is also set to organise its women’s wing convention at Kujang in Jagatsinghpur district Sunday.
While the party had decided to organise the convention at Tirtol earlier, later the decision was taken to organise it at Kujang.
It is learnt that the BJD is committed towards weakening Rout’s influence and strengthening its hold in the grassroots level.
On the other hand, it was known that Rout is leaving no stone unturned to impair the BJD convention.
Meanwhile, people are anxious to witness the high voltage political drama in the upcoming elections which has recently gained momentum following the tussle between aggrieved Rout and the ruling party.
It may be pertinent to mention here that, the political relations between BJD’s Jagatsinghpur district president Bishnu Charan Das and the Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD)’s district president and Tirtol legislator Rajashree Mallick had been bitter since long. The rivalry between them grew bitter when Rajashree handed over responsibility of Jagatsiinghpur block and Jagatsinghpur municipality to two women who were known to be arch rivals of Bishnu.
Upset over Rajashree’s decision, Bishnu complained this matter to the party supremo Naveen Patnaik following which both of them were ousted from their concerned posts.
After expulsion of Rout who was backing Rajashree and mentoring her, Bishnu’s excitement has no boundaries as he has already started aspiring to be the successor of Rout.
The drama took a twist when Rajashree along with her supporters arrived at Naveen Nivas to welcome the decision of Rout’s ouster in a bid to save herself from the supremo’s anger.
According to available information, Rout has announced that he would try to defeat BJD candidates in four constituencies at any cost.
While Rajashree has planned to display her power in the convention, the only thing to witness is to what extent she could make the convention a grand success.
