BHUBANESWAR: The 13th day of .FEST (Bhubaneswar City Festival) saw people come out in droves to enjoy the fusion fiesta and a musical performance at Exhibition ground here Monday.
Audiences got the opportunity to watch the Fusion Fiesta, which also happens to be the theme of the day, with V Dance Company, India’s first mega crew to win various reality shows like Dance Plus, India’s Got Talent and Boogie Woogie to name a few. Performances also included peppy song numbers by Ankur Tiwari and Ghalat family who had roped in international star Norah Jones in the past.
Continuing the inclusiveness of .FEST the event today saw many children from local orphanages and numerous ASHA workers, whose efforts are to uplift the health and welfare of communities at the grass-root level; enjoy both the music and dance performances. Fronted by Bhubaneswar Development Association (BDA), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Odisha Tourism, the idea was to include every section of the society during the city-wide celebration.
A visitor Pratiksha Padhi said, “I am enjoying each and every moment of this enthralling fest. The fest is catering to the needs of entertainment lovers and foodies alike. After watching electrifying dance numbers with my friends, I am able to relish international cuisines too. It’s a shame that the fest is approaching its concluding day.”
N Rohan Achary of Std IV said, “I am relishing the evening with my friends. This is one night I would never forget.” Hemamanjari Bhoi, an ASHA worker said, “.FEST has created a nice environment in which people from all the walks of life are becoming a part and parcel and the event.”
The International Street Food Festival continued to offer a gastronomical experience for food lovers. Showcasingdelicacies from over 16 countries, different states of India and specialties of Odisha, the festival’s food extravaganza is a popular hit with audiences.
A foodie Sugupta Sen said, “English food is usually quite bland. However, fish and chips are really great. I am also relishing Spanish dishes like Pinchitos chicken and Veg Croqutes.” Another foodie Madhusmita Mohanty said, “It’s a shame that the fest is going to conclude Sunday. It’s not every day that we get to relish global cuisines at such affordable prices. Non-vegetarian items both grilled and fried have attracted me the most.”
The 14th day of the fest would be marked by the performance of one of the most well-known faces of the Indian movie industry, Farhan Akhtar.
