Cuttack: Demanding fulfillment of several demands, the Odisha Hindu Sena and Cuttack Sadar Suraksha Committee called for a 12-hour bandh in the Silver city Wednesday. The dawn-to-dusk bandh has affected normal life in Cuttack. Vehicular movements came to a standstill in several areas.
Among the various demands of the protesters are: Relaxation in vehicle checking after implementation of the new MV Act, repair of roads and establishment of vending zones for evicted small traders. They are also protesting relocation of some government offices from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar.
However, no major effect of the bandh on normal life was felt in the city this morning. Giving the bandh call, members of the associations had yesterday taken out a motorcycle rally in the city seeking support of the public.
