Kendrapara: The National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB) has allowed District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) to enroll as its associate members.
This was stated here by Ambika Prasad Das, one of the directors of NAFSCOB. NAFSCOB MD and President of ICBA Bhima Subrahmanyam informed this in a letter to chairpersons and chief executives of all the DCCBs, December 14.
Earlier, the DCCBs were only working as members. The efforts were initiated October 23, this year towards enrollment of DCCBs in NAFSCOB as associate members.
The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) registered the amendments to NAFSCOB bye-laws under Section-11 of the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 (39 of 2002), to frame the same by the MSCS (Amendment) Act, 2023 and MSCS (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
This amendment allows all DCCBs to seek associate membership of NAFSCOB by depositing the membership application form along with an annual subscription for the FY2024-25, Bhima Subrahmanyam, the managing director of NAFSCOB, said.
The plan is to organize either a regional or national conference of DCCBs to discuss the issues arising out of the new membership enrollment.
