Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik Thursday said that leaders who left the party never subscribed to the party’s ideology, and were lured by the marketing tactics of rivals.
The response came when reporters asked the OPCC President about some leaders who had deserted the party and joined the others.
“Those who did not believe in the party’s ideology were lured by the marketing tactics of the BJP and BJD. I must confess that the BJD and the BJP are masters in the art of marketing,” he said.
The OPCC chief was attending a function here with senior leaders of the party where All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi released the Odia version of the party’s national manifesto. He said the party’s state manifesto will be ready in a week.
Speaking to the press, Priyanka said the Congress will ensure the rights of tribal people in states like Odisha.
