Bhubaneswar: KRITAANSH-2018, the annual fest of DPS Kalinga, a three-day cultural extravaganza, was held from December 19 to 21.
The chief guests who attended the fest are Subroto Bagchi, Director, Odisha Skill Development Authority, Lalit Das, IPS, Chairman-cum-MD, OSPHWC and Namrata Chadha, Member, Juvenile Justice Board.
The guests of honour were Ananta Mahapatra and Rebecca Nayar, PCCF & Chief Executive RPRC.
The evenings started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp accompanied by the rendition of hymns.
The Principal, Anuradha Rakshit, extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, highlighting the achievements of the academic year and the awards conferred on the school.
Trustee Mala Mishra emphasised interpersonal skills and focus on life goals overcoming digital distractions.
The school souvenir ‘Kalinga Footprints-2018’ was released by the dignitaries during the function.
The audience was enthralled by the melodious Raagmala and Sursangam.
Panchatatva, a fusion of classical dances depicted the splendour of the five elements of nature. Chakravyu, the saga of brave Abhimanyu and Bhavini, a tribute to women achievers like Sudha Chandran, Kiran Bedi, Mary Kom and Rama Devi mesmerised the audience.
‘Ablaze,’ a special performance by the Rock Band of DPS Kalinga which had recently won the Best School Rock Band Trophy, left the audience spellbound.
Merit certificates and a cash award of Rs 1 lakh won at the Bhubaneswar City Fest 2018 were also distributed.
