Dell plans to open eight new exclusive showrooms in state

post news network, Bhubaneswar, June 12: The US-based firm Dell plans to open eight more exclusive showrooms in the state, a top official of the company said, here Friday.

“We are planning to open eight more exclusive rooms in the state by the end of this fiscal. Out of the eight showrooms, the first three will be opened by the end of July and the rest five will be opened in the later part of this fiscal,” the official said while briefing the press about the ‘Back to College Offer’.

Elaborating on the locations of the new showrooms, he said the first three will be opened in Gajapati, Balasore and Bhubaneswar; the remaining five will be opened in Baripada, Bhawanipatna , Puri, Berhampur and Bargarh.

“We mostly target the college goers for ‘back to college’ offer, in which one can avail the benefits of Rs11,298 by just paying Rs1,699. A buyer can register by entering the SA code available with the product during purchase in the company website only. The offer is valid on the purchase of the ‘Dell’ laptops with processors i3 onwards,” Ashirbad Computers and Services proprietor Rudrakanta Mohapatra said.

Elaborating on the offer, he said, a buyer gets the benefits, as gift voucher worth of Rs 3,000, ear plug costing            Rs 1,299 and one year extendable warranty on the laptops are given.

On the market share of the company, the official said, the company holds a 31.5 per cent share in the laptop segment only, whereas it holds a 15.4 per cent share in the desktop segment, in the state.

“The company in the state exhibits a year-on-year growth of 21 per cent in the state, while it exhibits 15 per cent quarter-on- quarter growth. It targets to sell 19,500 laptops, 4000 desktops in this fiscal against the 15,000 units and 1000 units sold respectively in last fiscal,” he added.
