Dengue spreads tentacles in Ganjam; 3 affected

Berhampur: Dengue is spreading its tentacles in Ganjam as the third case in the district was detected in the Sadar block this year. Sources said a 20-year-old youth of Badachakada village has tested positive for dengue. He was working in Surat and was down with fever. On returning home, he went through a test for the vector-borne disease which came out positive.

Earlier, a person of Lanjipalli under Berhampur Municipal Corporation had tested positive. The first dengue case was detected in Podampetta July 14. Chief district medical officer (CDMO) Umashankar Mishra has advised the health workers to sanitise low-lying areas and drains by applying disinfectants and mosquito repellants. Health workers are advising people to maintain proper sanitation of their surroundings.
