Bhubaneswar: Tourism Minister Pravati Parida, under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, planted a ‘Baula’ sapling in Paryatan Bhawan and Panthanivas here, Tuesday. During her visit, Parida took note of various arrangements inside the Panthanivas premises. Later, in a review meeting with the department officers, she advised them to set a new benchmark in hospitality and ensure better service facilities to tourists.
Tourism director Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, OTDC general manager Lalatendu Sahoo and other senior officials and staff were present in the meeting. The campaign underscores the importance of nurturing and respecting nature just as one respects one’s mother. During the drive, Parida emphasised the importance of honouring mothers and fostering a greener Odisha, by encouraging every citizen to plant a tree in the name of their mother. She highlighted the need for the state’s commitment to integrating green practices into its developmental strategies and urged officials to take up the campaign across the state.
