Dhoni, Raina, Rohit set to fight for 200 sixes in IPL

The IPL is scheduled to begin March 23 in Chennai where Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will begin their title defence against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

New Delhi:  Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma are all set to battle it out to become the first Indian to reach 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The IPL is scheduled to begin March 23 in Chennai where Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will begin their title defence against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The former team India captain has hit 186 sixes in the competition’s history placing him at third position in the list of most sixes hit by an individual in the league.

Dhoni’s Superkings teammate Suresh Raina, who is the top scorer of IPL, is fourth on the list with 185 sixes.

Meanwhile Mumbai Indians stalwart Rohit Sharma has smashed the ball out of the park 184 times and currently occupies the 5th position.

Leading the list, and by quite some distance, is West Indian hitman Chris Gayle who has an astonishing 292 sixes to his name despite having a lower innings count compared to the others in the top five which also includes AB de Villiers who is second with 186 sixes.
