Dist circuit House in bad shape

Malkangiri: Malkangiri District Circuit House is in a dilapidated condition courtesy lack of maintenance. It has 21 rooms out of which nine them are not functioning because of staff shortage. A clerk is looking after the managerial part of the Circuit House while two peons take care of it.

Malkangiri was declared a district on October 2, 1992.  Since that time, the Collector Office has moved from one place to another. First, a collectorate was set up in front of the Circuit House. Later, the training centre for the self help groups of DTDA was converted into Collector Office. Now, it is running at its own building. However, the earlier two offices are in a dilapidated condition.

On the other hand, officials/guests coming from within and outside the state to the district have to stay in the Circuit House.

Meanwhile, the district level festival Malyabanta Mohatsav is scheduled for January 11, following which guests from outside will be visiting Malkangiri. So, the locals have demanded immediate repairs to the Circuit House.
