Bargarh: The Bargarh district administration sealed Sunday the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for five days, after a doctor tested positive for COVID-19. The report of the doctor arrived here Sunday.
CDMO Bibhuti Bhusan Meher said, “We have suspended all services of the hospital in order to contain further spread of the virus. The fire brigade team is sanitising the hospital premises. Doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff who have come in contact with the doctor have been asked to undergo home quarantine,” said Meher. The CDMO also said that contact tracing is on. “Swab samples of the hospital staff will be sent for COVID-19 tests during their home quarantine period,” he added.
As a precautionary measure, patients undergoing treatment at the DHH have been shifted to the VIMSAR College and Hospital in Burla and Old Hospital in Bargarh, informed Meher.
With three new cases reported Sunday, the total tally of COVID-19 patients in the district rose to 247. Currently there are 68 active cases at various COVID-19 hospitals while 178 people have recovered from the disease.
