Bhubaneswar, August 14: After clinching the state junior billiards title Thursday, the wiry Ashutosh Padhy also emerged champion in the snooker event of the 22nd Orissa Junior Billiards and snooker State Championship, which concluded at the Vintage Club here Friday. In the final, Ashutosh thrashed Rajat Dhal 3-0 to take the top honours. In the semifinals Ashutosh had beaten Rakesh Barik 3-0 while Rajat overcame Sahil Arora 3-1.
Gurukula win title
Gurukula Model School, Keonjhar emerged champions in the Inter-School Sepak Takraw Tournament blanking DAV School, Cuttack 2-0 in the final at the Stewart School Ground in Cuttack, Friday.
Chess tourney
Twenty players are sharing the top spot with two points each after the end of the second round of the Orissa State Youth Chess Championship here Friday. Inter-School Football
Unit-VI Athletic Association will organise the 26th Inter-School football tournament at the Unit-VI High School Ground starting August 18. Twenty seven teams will participate in this tournament, which will be played on a league-com knock-out basis.
