Cuttack: The Commissionerate of police arrested a notorious criminal after an encounter at Nuapada area Friday night.
Anil Behera alias Chiku, who suffered bullet injury, has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
According to reports, Purighat police were on the lookout for Chiku in connection with a loot case.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at Nuapada area. Finding that he was in trouble, Chiku opened fire which forced the cops to retaliate, injuring the criminal.
The police seized a pistol, two rounds of bullets and a mobile phone from Chiku’s possession.
