BHUBANESWAR: Dassault Systèmes, an European software company, showcased 3-D Experience on Wheels, a nationwide campaign aimed at connecting with small and medium enterprises, industrial hubs and engineering colleges in tier I & II cities.
The campaign is currently being organised at the Jatni campus of Centurion University of Technology & Management, Odisha. The campaign would then be conducted at Bhubaneshwar, Berhampur and Parlakemundi in Odisha.
Centurion University partnered with Dassault Systèmes in 2015 to make state-of-the-art technology accessible to students. With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on cloud, the students have the same resources and exposure available to them as leading global enterprises and manufacturers. Centurion University has undertaken consulting project using 3D technology; CATIA, Enovia, Delmia, Dymola, Geovia and Biovia.
Working with this platform represents a new paradigm in teaching because it allows multidisciplinary interaction. Mechanical, electronics, systems engineering, materials, CNC, welding and design students work together on very complex and detailed virtual 3D models, including complete vehicles. This has brought about a significant change in the way students engage and learn, as collaboration and understanding each other’s work enhances the students with a much broader view that encompasses more factors than their individual subjects.
