Balasore: In a shocking incident, a car driver was allegedly beaten to death by three inebriated bike-borne youths after the four-wheeler simply brushed past their bike in Jagannathpur-Ranakotha road near Patheswar Wednesday night.
The deceased person has been identified as Harishchandra Kamila of Basta. He had been working in the area as a jeweler for 25 years.
Wednesday evening, a woman of the same village was reportedly unwell and Harishchandra decided to give her and her family a lift in his OMNI van. After consulting the doctor in Chandaneswar, Harishchandra was on his way back at 8 pm in the evening when his van accidentally brushed past a bike.
Then, the three inebriated youths on the bike picked up a fight with Harishchandra and started thrashing him. Making a mountain out of a molehill, they brutally beat up Harishchandra that eventually led to his unfortunate death.
According to reports, police have detained one of the accused while other two are still absconding.
