Droupadi Murmu’s village finally gets electricity

Baripada: NDA’s Presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu’s native village Dungurisahi adjoining Uparbeda about 20 km from Rairangpur block in Mayurbhanj district was finally lit up with electricity after power supply was made available to the village, Sunday night.

The officials of Tata Power North Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPNODL) conducted the work on a war footing and finished it within two days. Over 50 employees of TPNODL worked at the site and laid cables for over 900 metres to connect the village with power supply, executive engineer Birsingh Soren of Rairangpur electrical division of TPNODL said.

Meanwhile, power supply has been made available to only 16 families while it will be available to the rest of the villagers soon after installation of a transformer, officials said.
