Not just Bollywood celebs, youth who are popular on social networking sites have taken to the new app in a big way
Gone are the days when you clicked selfies and posted them on social media. It’s now time to enter the new world of selfies. So, here we present the Dubsmash app, a German app which allows users to combine selfie videos with famous quotes. You can either pick an audio quote or a movie dialogue or even a song to make it more interesting. And if you are a movie buff who has got all those Gabbar dialogues by heart you are the right person for this; forget the taunts of friends of you being a ‘dramebaaz’ or ‘filmy’ person in the group. Dubsmash gives you a platform to act out your favourite movie scenes and has created a furore on social networking sites. Not just our favourite Bollywood stars, the entire world is keen on the app. Orissa POST records the views of youth who are popular on social networking sites.
Tanushree Dash from Bhubaneswar said, “Some months ago a crazy video app called Dubsmash hit the stores around the world. And from that day it has not looked back. The craze recently hit India with users going gaga over it. It basically helps you flaunt your acting skills with the voice and scenario of your choice. You can even submit your own recorded sounds for other users to use.”
“I have made a video selfie with my bestie. The quotes are taken from a variety of sources, including TV shows, movies and songs. It’s as simple as selecting a quote you like and then recording a short video of yourself. Once recorded, you can save their Dubsmash to their photo galleries and then share it via social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp,” Das added.
“Clicking selfies and posting them on social networking sites is an old practice; now it’s time for video selfies and that’s what Dubsmash is providing to users. The app has become quite a rage and is picking up pretty fast among youth in India. In fact, Bollywood celebrities too are Dubmashing their videos and have shared them online,” said Priyanka Teresa who hails from Cuttack.
“It is a new way of sending video messages. One can be filmy or just dramatic and the app is gaining popularity because no one wants to come last in the queue of posting selfie videos,” she added.
