Dumper hits electric pole in Joda, disrupts power supply

Joda:  Thousands of residents of Joda town in Keonjhar district had to live in darkness for hours late Monday night after a dumper collided with an electric pole near Bank of India close to Joda bus stand.

The pole was severely damaged on impact. That said, there has been no report of any loss of life or property in the incident.

According to local residents, the dumper was on its way from Bansapani to Joda when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it skidded off the road, colliding with the electric pole. The incident disrupted traffic on the road apart from putting many areas of the town in darkness.

On being informed, local police reached the spot and seized the dumper. The police officials also started an investigation. They have detained the driver of the dumper for interrogation.
