Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Dussehra, the state government Monday enhanced the dearness allowance (DA) of its employees and Dearness Relief (TI) of its pensioners by 2 per cent.
As per an order of the finance department, the overall DA of the state government employees has gone up to 9 per cent now. The employees and the pensioners will get the revised DA and TI with retrospective effect from July 1, 2018.
Along with the government employees, the work charge employees and the teachers and staff of the fully-aided non-government colleges covered under Odisha Revised Scales of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017 will also get the enhanced benefit.
The hike will also be admissible to the state government employees who were in service July 1, 2018, but have ceased to be in service at the time of sanction of DA as per the revised scale of pay.
The additional dose of DA will be paid in cash and can be drawn in the Pay Bill of October which will be payable in November and onwards. Arrear from the month of July to September on account of the enhanced DA will be distributed between November and March 31, 2019.
