Bhubaneswar: Maintaining her winning streak, ace sprinter of Odisha Dutee Chand stormed into the semi-final in the women’s 200-metre in the ongoing Asian Games at Jakarta Tuesday.
Dutee covered the distance with a timing of 23.37 seconds.
She had qualified to participate in the 200-metre sprint event in the Asian Games during the 58thNational Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship in Guwahati in June this year where she had won the silver medal clocking 23.41 seconds.
The promising star became the second fastest woman of Asia after she won the silver in the 100-metre sprint in 11.32 seconds Sunday night missing the gold by 0.02 seconds.
This was Dutee’s maiden appearance in the Asian Games.
