Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police Monday launched a web-based application for issuance of licences for marriage and funeral ceremonies during the lockdown.
Denizens seeking permission from police for marriage and funeral functions have been asked to visit the website of Commissionerate Police (https://bhubaneswarcuttackpolice.gov.in/) and click on the link “Apply for Marriage/Funeral License” to get the police permission.
The applicants have been instructed to apply at least 72 hours before the function and fill the online application form with all the required information. The applicants will receive an SMS in connection with the approval of the e-licence. Subsequently, the commissionerate will send individual messages to the invitees for the functions which ‘they can use as permission to commute from their place of stay to function venue.’
Police sources also said that the e-licensing system is available for the denizens of Capital city only and that it will be implemented in Cuttack shortly.
Commissionerate Police has developed the web-based solution with the assistance of ‘Oasys Tech Solution’.
Notably, the CP has also launched web-based application for private firms including the IT and ITeS companies to get self-generated e-passes for hassle-free movement of their workers.
