Bhubaneswar: Two special trains scheduled to depart from Odisha and West Bengal under the jurisdiction of East Coast Railway (ECoR) to Pondicherry November 24 and 25 respectively were cancelled due to the forecast of cyclonic storm ‘Nivar’ which will land make landfall in Tamil Nadu November 25 evening.
On the other hand, the Pondicherry-Bhubaneswar Special from Pondicherry scheduled November 25 will originate from Chennai Egmore instead of Pondicherry to Bhubaneswar and remain cancelled between Pondicherry and Chennai Egmore.
Meanwhile, the Pondicherry-Howrah Special from Pondicherry on November 25 will originate from Villupuram instead of Pondicherry to Howrah and remain cancelled from Pondicherry to Villupuram.
Notably, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Tuesday that the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm named ‘Nivar’.
